Our Story

Roots & Mission: Where Compassion Rebuilds What Conflict Destroyed

In a land scarred by decades of hardship, where generations grew amid conflict and loss, the flame of hope was never fully extinguished — it merely awaited hearts to reignite it.
Amid the ruins of fallen schools, the silence of closed clinics, and the resilience of patient families, a vision emerged — one that believes true rebuilding begins not with wealth, but with knowledge, mercy, and purpose.

The Uthman ibn Affan (RA) Foundation for Education and Development arose from this conviction — that rebuilding a nation begins with rebuilding its people.
Education is the foundation; health is the strength; compassion is the language of humanity; and the construction of mosques and schools is the mark of revival.

Our mission is not a temporary initiative but a lasting covenant — with Allah, and with our Ummah — to be present where need is greatest and hope is faintest, to plant seeds of knowledge, faith, and action.
We teach in remote villages, care for the sick, support the needy, and build the places that restore both dignity and faith to life.

In every child who learns, we see a nation rising.
In every patient who heals, we see an Ummah regaining its strength.
In every mosque or school we build, we see a light rekindled between the body and the soul.
And in every family we support, we see a promise — that goodness still lives within this nation.

Experience has taught us that development lies not only in the stones we lay, but in the souls that give them meaning.
Education without mercy, care without values, and construction without sincerity — each remains incomplete.
But when these values unite, true revival is born — a revival that grows from the heart of the people and blossoms into the strength of the nation.

At the Uthman ibn Affan (RA) Foundation for Education and Development, we make no distinction between the pen that teaches, the hand that heals, the brick that builds, or the aid that uplifts — for all are reflections of one sacred mission:
to restore balance to the Ummah, dignity to humanity, and meaning to life itself.

Meet the Founder

Shaikh al-Qur’an wal-Hadith Mawlana Muhammad Sarwar Omari

(may Allah preserve him)

Shaikh Muhammad Sarwar Omari is among the distinguished scholars and contemporary thinkers of Afghanistan — a religious figure whose work unites knowledge, service, and institution-building for the benefit of the Ummah.
He was born in 1360 (solar) in the village of Pitujoi Marq, Tala wa Barfak District of Baghlan Province, into a devout family known for its faith, sincerity, and moral integrity.

After completing his early studies in his hometown, he traveled to Pakistan in pursuit of higher Islamic education.
He studied at two of the leading Islamic universities in the world — Al-Jami‘ah al-‘Arabiyyah Ahsan al-‘Uloom and Al-Jami‘ah al-Banuriyyah al-‘Alamiyyah in Karachi — completing his advanced studies up to the master’s level in Islamic sciences.
Upon returning to Afghanistan, he earned another master’s degree in Qur’anic Exegesis and Sciences from one of the country’s leading universities.

Since 1388 (solar), Shaykh Omari has devoted his life to the noble mission of Qur’anic and Islamic education, teaching hundreds of students, teachers, and memorizers of the Holy Qur’an — many of whom now serve Islam both within Afghanistan and abroad.

His contributions extend beyond teaching to the establishment and development of major educational and religious institutions throughout the country, including:

  • Pushtah Shuhada Madrasa in the village of Shuhada, Tala wa Barfak District.

  • Nu‘maniyyah Madrasa in Tala wa Barfak.

  • Uthman ibn ‘Affan Madrasa in Deh Sabz, Kabul, accommodating over 1,000 students under the Uthman ibn Affan (RA) Foundation for Education and Development.

  • Darul-Uloom Omariyah and Omariyah Madrasas (1, 2, and 3) in Kabul, where more than 2,500 male and female students are enrolled in religious studies.

  • Establishment of 103 educational centers across Afghanistan through the Uthman ibn Affan (RA) Foundation for Education and Development, serving around 3,000 students in Islamic sciences.

  • Construction of the Grand Mosque of Uthman ibn ‘Affan (may Allah be pleased with him) in the village of Banozi, Nahrin District, Baghlan Province.

Shaykh Omari embodies a comprehensive vision that sees education as worship, construction as charity, and service to humanity as a path to Allah.
Through this understanding, he has laid a foundation that integrates education, care, and construction within one unified mission — driven by sincerity, transparency, and steady, grounded effort.
